About First Education
Established in 1947 by a group of teachers in Laramie County, First Education is a not-for-profit financial cooperative providing a full selection of banking services. We offer a variety of savings and checking accounts, low-rate loans and Cash-back rewards credit cards, debit cards, and much more.
When you join First Education, you become a member and part owner of the Credit Union. Unlike traditional banks whose profits go to private shareholders, our profits are returned to the membership in the form of improved services, lower rates on loans, higher yields on deposits, and a commitment to providing knowledgeable and friendly member service second to none. Everyone who lives, works, goes to school or worships in Laramie County, WY, or who have family members who live, work, go to school or worship in Laramie County, WY, can be a member of First Ed. Share credit union membership with your family. They can join, too!
We are a not-for-profit financial cooperative, so we treat our members like the owners they are. Once you join, you become a part owner of the Credit Union.
Our Members Are Owners. We really do belong to you. First Education Federal was founded by people with a philosophy of helping one another. Credit unions respond to the financial needs of their members quickly and creatively because members are the credit union. The Board of Directors, management, and staff do not have to worry about making a profit for third-party investors who may or may not do business at FEFCU.
It’s easy to open an account. Bring your ID and at least $5.00 to open your share account. You can open a checking or any other type of account at the same time.
